Alessandra Viviani: since 2019 is full professor of International Law at the Department of Political and International Sciences at the University of Siena. Graduated in Law at the University of Siena in 1990, in 1996 she obtained the Master degree in Magister Juris in European and Comparative Law at the University of Oxford. In the same year she received the title of Doctor of International Law from the University of Florence. At the University of Siena, she teaches International Law, International Economic Law and Gender Discrimination. She is member of the Executive Board of the University. From 2018 to 2020 she has been Rector’s delegate for the Santa Chiara Lab and from 2010 to 2016 Rector’s Delegate for Internationalization. She coordinates several Erasmus exchange agreements and Erasmus KA2 Strategic Partnership projects on human rights education and social inclusion. Among these, the Off Book project was selected by EACEA in 2021 as a “best practice” on inclusion and the Together project, which focuses on welcoming refugee students to the university, was awarded the award as the best project on inclusion in 2020 by the Portuguese National Agency. She is the Coordinator of the Jean Monnet “Delivering EU studies on Agenda 2030 – DEUS30”. She has been Visiting Teacher at the Universities of Coimbra, Cracow, and Oneonta (NY). She cooperates with UNICEF Italia as an expert. In 2021 she has been appointed by the National Authority on Child Protection (AGIA) as expert in the Working Group on the Right to be heard and participate. She is author of several publications, including the two monographs, on international human rights law.
