Philippe Portier is First Vice-President responsible for the transversal skills of Campus Condorcet and international relations of the École Pratique des Hautes Etudes in Paris and he was Director of the Groupe Sociétés, Religions, Laïcité until 2019. Since 2019 he has been a member of the Independent Commission on Sexual Abuse in the Church, charged with investigating the sexual abuse of minors in the Catholic Church since the 1950s. In January 2021 he was elected co-president of the Enquête association, which fights for the introduction of religious education in schools. His research focused first on Catholicism after the Second Vatican Council, then on the question of secularism from its genesis to its various developments in the world.
